Windows warning when you download or install?

That’s expected, and your download is fine. Because Macro Studio is independent software and every release is brand-new, Windows (SmartScreen) — and occasionally antivirus tools like McAfee — may not recognize it yet. You may see “isn’t commonly downloaded” while the file is downloading, or an “unrecognized app” message when you install it. Both warnings fade on their own as more people install each release.

Every download is code-signed by Macro Studio and available only from this page, so as long as you downloaded it here, follow these steps to install it:

• Browser says “isn’t commonly downloaded”: open your Downloads list (Ctrl + J), hover the blocked file, click the … menu and choose Keep. On the box that follows, click the small arrow on the Delete button and choose Keep anyway.
• “Windows protected your PC” when installing: click More info, then Run anyway. The publisher line shows the full certificate details and must include Macro Studio — if it doesn’t, don’t run it, tell us instead.
• McAfee / antivirus: choose Keep or Allow (or restore the file from your download history).

Antivirus flagged the Mac download?

A few products, mainly Norton, Avast, AVG and Avira, report Macro Studio on macOS as something like MacOS:MalwareX-gen. Your download is fine. Every release is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so Apple has scanned it. What those products react to is how the app is packaged, not what is in it: Macro Studio is a Python app, and that whole shape of app gets flagged as a group.

Restore the file from your antivirus quarantine and allow it, then let us know which product flagged it and what the detection was called. We report these to the vendors, and the exact name is what makes a report useful.
